[ENG] Presentation of the book by Boris Briker and Anatoly Vishevsky, “We do not Speak Yiddish” This book is a collection of funny stories and essays from the life of the city of Chernivtsi, in which the authors were born and raised. Each story has a Yiddish word or phrase, but you do not need to know Yiddish to read a book. Briker and Vishevsky even admit that they themselves do not speak Yiddish and lived somewhere on the outskirts of it, and that they need Yiddish words and phrases as artifacts or fragments of dishes during archaeological excavations that help the authors build a city of their childhood and youth and repopulate it with themselves, Borya and Tolya, and the people who once surrounded them. В каждом рассказике есть слово или фраза на идише, но чтобы читать книгу, совсем не обязательно знать этот язык. Брикер и Вишевский даже признаются, что и сами не говорят на идише и жили от него где-то сбоку, а слова и фразы на идише им нужны как артефакты или обломки посуды при археологических раскопках, которые помогают авторам выстроить город времен их детства и юности и заселить в нем заново их самих, Борю и Толю, а также людей, когда-то их окружавших. Мероприятие на русском языке. Вход свободный! На презентации можно будет приобрести книгу с автографом Анатолия Вишевского (часть средств от продаж автор передаст на поддержку Украины).
