DE: “Merve Akyıldız Balkan&Pop Band” ist ein Balkan-basiertes Projekt im Balkan-Pop-Stil, das Cover-Songs aus der Türkei, Bulgarien, Mazedonien und Griechenland sowie eigene Lieder von Merve Akyıldız umfasst.
Es ist eine Musikgruppe, die folkloristische Lieder in Pop, Jazz, A-cappella, Ethno und Elektronik kombiniert. Das Projekt, das sowohl den Zuhörer mit rhythmischen Melodien erfreut als auch tief traurig macht, vereint Menschen in gemeinsamen Gefühlen mit dem Thema Frieden in der Welt.
Merve Akyıldız wird begleitet von Peter Somos am Schlagzeug & Percussion, Vladimir Karparov am Saxophon, Roberto Badoglio am Bass und Alexey Wagner an der Gitarre.
Merve Akyıldız: Geboren am 25. Februar 1994 in Izmir, absolvierte sie das Staatliche Konservatorium in Antalya. Sie wuchs mit türkischen Volksliedern auf und entdeckte aufgrund ihrer mazedonischen Wurzeln die Balkanmusik. Merve gewann Preise bei Klavier- und Gesangswettbewerben, studierte Jazz-Harmonie und arbeitete in verschiedenen Musikrichtungen. 2018 gründete sie das „Merve Akyıldız World Music Project“. Sie ist Solistin im YuMaK-Team und im Berlin Babylon Orchester. Derzeit lebt sie in Berlin und spielt im Maxim-Gorki-Theater.
Peter Somos: Aufgewachsen in Budapest, begann er mit 14 Jahren professionell zu arbeiten. Er ist summa cum laude Absolvent der Codarts University of Music in Rotterdam. Peter hat mit vielen bekannten Künstlern gespielt und auf renommierten Festivals weltweit performt.
Vladimir Karparov: Seine Musik kombiniert zeitgenössischen Jazz mit bulgarischer Volksmusik. Er hat erfolgreiche Alben wie “Thracian Dance” und “Iglika” veröffentlicht und erhielt 2020 den Preis des bulgarischen Kulturministeriums. Karparov tritt mit verschiedenen Formationen auf, darunter das V. Karparov Quartett und das Balkan Spirit Ensemble, und hat mit Künstlern wie Ivo Papasov und Shantel zusammengearbeitet.

Merve Akyıldız: Born on February 25, 1994, in Izmir, she graduated from the State Conservatory in Antalya. She grew up with Turkish folk songs and discovered Balkan music due to her Macedonian roots. Merve won awards in piano and singing competitions, studied jazz harmony, and worked in various music genres. In 2018, she founded the “Merve Akyıldız World Music Project.” She is a soloist in the YuMaK team and the Berlin Babylon Orchestra. Currently, she lives in Berlin and performs at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater.
