The French pianist Celine Voccia, who has lived in Berlin since 2011, combines the aesthetics of contemporary music with the lively interactivity of jazz and improvisation in her musical vision. Having been influenced by the likes of Olivier Messiaen and Toru Takemitsu, Céline Voccia belongs to the circles of New European Improvisation.

Lothar Ohlmeier has, over a career of more than 25 years, performed and recorded with a litany of jazz and improvised music’s most respected bandleaders. Revered for his exceptional control of tone, virtuosic phrasing and mastery of musical settings from contemporary classical music to jazz and free improvisation, Lothar continues to seek out new settings and protagonists to experiment and collaborate with.

Matthias Bauer, younger brother of the jazz musicians Conny (*1943) and Hannes (1954–2016), studied double bass in Berlin at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music. In 1980 he left the GDR and lived in Lyon until 1988, then in Cologne, and again in Berlin since 1991. A central concern is his own solo performance incorporating the voice. Bauer has written music for smaller and larger ensembles as well as for theatre and dance.
