Children need catchy tunes! The two keyboard clowns Olga and Nikolay are sure of that — and therefore regularly provide plenty of musical supplies. Four-handed and virtuosic, the two transform well-known classics of piano literature into rousing hits, delighting not only young audiences. Breathtakingly racy, they move from Strauss’ Tritsch- Tratsch-Polka to Gavrilin’s wild Tarantella; dancing, they dive into the Trepak from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, ride the merry-go-round with Dmitriev and give goosebumps with Kapustin’s Concert Etude.
Oops! Did you hear that? That sounded crooked. Did someone make a mistake? Nikolay looks innocently at the ceiling. Olga counts her fingers. Eight! And two thumbs! Lucky again. Take a deep breath and start all over again. The red noses tightened and were fresh to work.
For six years now, the Klavieriki duo has been whisking its young audience away into a musical world with four-handed piano playing, melodica, accordion, soap bubbles, and singing saw. Whether at an open-air children’s music festival, on a cruise ship, in the spotlight on a big stage, or in the intimate atmosphere of an off-stage — the two sound clowns make children laugh wherever they play for them and with them.
