Swingistan

After Swingistan released their debut album Demokles last year, they will perform at Panda Platforma for the second time. We expect an energetic musical journey from Berlin clubs to Catalan beaches, full of Turkish city melancholy, to end up in Berlin’s jazz and world music scene.

Double bass and cavaquinho, violin and guitar, accordion, saxophone and drums support the deep voice of lead singer Güley Alagöz for more than seven years now. Again and again underpinned by polyphonic chorals that move us away from familiar worlds and rhythms, lyrically burned-down wonder worlds and utopian underwater scenarios are painted and the different origins and longings of the members are negotiated.
